
2026 Gene Fischer Memorial Scholarship
Details & Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for this one-year scholarship (with the potential to apply for a second year), the applicant must be a resident of Greene County who has an interest in law enforcement.

Even though it is not a requirement in consideration of this scholarship, applicants are encouraged to be a registered voter, if eligible.

The scholarship may be used at any accredited educational institution of the applicant’s choosing.

The scholarship will be in the amount of $2,000 for the 2026-2027 school year and may be used for tuition only. The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution of choice.

A successful scholarship recipient must continue to meet all eligibility requirements and re-apply to be considered to receive a second-year award.

The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to interview applicants if deemed necessary. If so, you will be notified by a phone call, email, or text.

All decisions and rulings by the Scholarship Committee are final.

The following information must be submitted at the same time for the application to be accepted. Failure to provide all required information will disqualify the application.

Completed Application (the 4-page document)

Essay – 150 to 200 words

Two (2) Letters of Recommendation: To be completed and signed by any adult not related to the applicant. These letters must be submitted along with this application directly to the address at the bottom of this page.

Official School Transcript(s) or Official College Transcript(s): The transcripts must be sealed and submitted with this application. (It is the applicant’s responsibility to follow-up with the school counselor or person in charge to ensure the transcript is submitted by the deadline. Failure to receive a transcript by the deadline will automatically disqualify the application.)
​DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: The complete scholarship application and all required attachments must be sent to the Greene County Republican Party, OR emailed to GCRP.Scholarship@gmail.com, OR be received in-person at Greene County Republican Party Headquarters by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27.
